Golden Peak (Spantik) Trek
Intro
Discover serenity and adventure on the Spantik Base Camp Trek — a high-altitude journey to the base of Golden Peak (Spantik 7,027m) in the heart of the Karakoram. Ideal for trekkers seeking solitude, scenic landscapes, and a rewarding challenge without the crowds.
Trek Overview
The Spantik Base Camp Trek is a 9–12 day high-altitude adventure that leads you to the foot of the majestic Golden Peak, famous for its glowing golden hue at sunrise and sunset. Offering a balance between challenge and peace, this trek is far from the crowded Karakoram routes.
Your journey begins in Skardu, followed by an exciting 4×4 jeep ride through the scenic Shigar Valley to Arandu village. From here, the real adventure begins — traversing lush meadows, glacier crossings, and alpine valleys. Campsites such as Bukhum and Chogo Brangsa offer tranquil overnight stays before reaching the Spantik Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks and dramatic ice formations.
This trek is best suited for intermediate to advanced trekkers looking for a quieter yet strikingly beautiful Karakoram experience. Expect unforgettable views, deep connection with nature, and the serenity of the less-traveled eastern Karakoram.
